Working Mom
This is my third day back at my job. Isabel is in the childcare center here at the college, so I can drop by to check on her when I have a couple of free minutes. I look like I'm moving in when I come to work in the morning, toting Isabel, my handbag, and the bag with the pumping kit, along with my lunch and Isabel's supplies for the day. Then it's a full day of meetings and meeting deadlines followed by trying to plow through the laundry and picking up dog hair at home.
I feel like the woman from the Enjoli perfume commercials in the early 1980s: "I can bring home the [fakin'] bacon, fry it up in a pan, and never, never, never let you forget you're a man...cause I'm a wo-man...Enjoli!" Of course, Webhamster brings home about 33% more fakin' bacon than I do, probably also 'cause I'm a woman. Actually, it's because I work in a public sector job and he is private sector.

I suppose she's doing well at the daycare? I sometimes wish I had a place to take Zack from time to time. :) And how's work going now that you are back? Did you miss working at all? I sometimes do miss it, a bit. ;)
To be honest, I didn't miss working, at least not at my job. Taking care of Isabel is a full-time job, though a fulfilling one. I missed the interaction with others during the days more than anything. What I regret is the decision to take a leave of absence instead of resigning. Now, I've obligated myself to a minimum of one year back at my job, and I have to find time to complete my dissertation.
