Stay-at-Home Mom

Today is my last day in my office. Tomorrow, I officially become a Stay-at-Home Mom. Of course, I'll also be devoting a chunk of the time and energy freed by leaving my job to completing my dissertation, so I'll be as busy as ever. Nevertheless, it's going to be fun having more adventures with Isabel now that I'll see more of her during her waking hours. And, it's going to be chaotic for a while as we move into the new house with three dogs, a cat, and virtually no yard. One big happy...

Mr. Chili's Neighborhood

It will be a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a neighborly day for a beauty when Chili moves back from California. The Webhamsters can see The House of Chili--doesn't that sound like a place to acquire some gastrointestinal discomfort?--from the alley behind the house we're buying. Come back, Chili, come back!

Wow. I just alluded to Mr. Rogers and Prince within a few breaths. Maybe Fred Rogers is a closet freak. My cardigan-wearing friends will tell you his clothes are a clue.

Going AWOL

I noticed that three weeks passed between my two previous posts. With this impending move, the Webhamsters have been busy tying up loose ends at our current jobs, househunting in Louisville, starting to pack, and preparing to sell our house here. Posts are probably going to be infrequent for a couple of months as we transition into the new digs.

Changing scale of time

Isabel will be nine months old in three days. As the cliche goes, "they grow up so quickly!" Where did nine months go in such a brief flash? I think the time scale has been altered; nine months minus three days didn't elapse so quickly when I was pregnant and waiting--with broad, puffy Hobbit-feet--for the arrival of our little Cletus!
