Free Cletus and Eeny

Fetuses no more, these two girls! Ah, la vie en rose... (though Webhamster thinks we shouldn't gender color-type)

Bunny go potty

We may be making some baby steps back toward using the potty again after regressing a bit. Last night, Isabel was holding her little stuffed pink bunny and said, "Potty Bunny!" I quickly escorted her to the potty. Isabel, of course, didn't need to sit on the potty, but she thought Bunny needed to go. I told her to put Bunny on the potty. Isabel proceeded to serenade Bunny with the "Poo Poo Poo" song that Daddy sings to her, then checked Bunny's bottom.

Webhamster and I are really trying not to push Isabel when it comes to the potty. We don't want any Freudian complexes haunting us years down the road. We're just trying to make the training fun and relaxed.

My favorite holiday

Thanksgiving has long been my favorite holiday. It's never been about the turkey--even before I went vegetarian, I was never a fan. I'll admit, my mother's sweet potato casserole and Grandma Mitchell's whole cranberry relish and her unbeatable sage stuffing (which they never actually cooked in or around the turkey) recipes play a role, as does watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade and then football later, but I think it's really about visiting family without other distractions.

Well, maybe that, and the anticipation of Christmas just around the corner. I have many fond memories of perusing the Day After Thanksgiving Sale flyers and going shopping early the next morning with my mother and grandmother, then meeting my aunt, uncle, and cousins at the Shrine Circus afterward. It was a great tradition. Back then, Christmas magic popped out overnight, as though elves had been in the stores decorating while we were all enjoying pumpkin pie. There was none of this day after Halloween (or even before, now) Christmas stuff.

Gone Daddy Gone

Webhamster is going to be in Hoboken (NJ, right across from Manhattan) all next week for a big work project, so Teh Is, Eeny and I are going to be roughing it on our own. I hope Isabel doesn't get too upset about Daddy not being here. I'll have to remind him to take a webcam with him. My parents have really enjoyed being able to see and talk to Isabel that way in the interim between our visits to Illinois and their visits here. Plus, Isabel is fascinated by the "pootah."
